"He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." - Emily Bronte

This post is late. Very late. Troy and I have been engaged now for almost 2 months.

April 27th. I mean... what a day.

I still shake my head some days when I look down and see the beautiful ring my fiance chose for me.

Not because of the ring itself (don't get me wrong, it blows me away), but more from the feeling of kind of disbelief...
like Me??
I'm getting married??
To Troy Dalton? WHAT?!?!?!?!

I feel beyond lucky. And maybe the reason for the delay in posting is that I have been just so enjoying this feeling. This new chapter for both of us.

I love you Troy- thanks for making me yours.

This is how it went down... just sitting on the couch with a glass of wine.
Post facial and Rodney's.
This was about 30 seconds before he popped the question.

For Big J.

The celebration of my Uncle John's life was a couple of weekends ago, and it was this poem recited by my Mom that made me feel most connected to him... UJ, I picture you somewhere beautiful, listening to Neil Diamond... painting daffodils.
Love you.

Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

#babypictures

I love this picture...Jody was so right when she said that the sit-ups Ricci is doing while Troy sits on her legs MUST have been the inspiration for GWA.
Thank you Doug for sharing!

Family "Hike"

A few weekends ago we celebrated my Mom and Char's birthdays with what was supposed to be a hike over in Deep Cove. Since those boys below, George and Oliver, are not used the real wilderness and/or have really only mastered stairs, the hike was abandoned after about 5 minutes.
Instead we opted for a more leisurely walk along the trail followed by cupcakes made by June Bug, and breakfast at Honey's. It was a great morning, albeit a little hectic... 10 or 10:30? Ahhhh! What a family!

The Babies- I still can't tell them apart.

Utter chaos- those boys wanted to be carried

Love this picture! #sisters xoxo
