JACK BERRY!!!!

It was only a year ago around this time that Carly was giving birth to baby Jack... He has grown so much in the last 12 months and I have been lucky enough to see him 2 weekends in a row. Last Saturday we celebrated his birthday at Carly and Steve's house in Surrey (??... Cloverdale??) and today we spent some time with him at the Vancouver Aquarium. Despite being on no sleep, our little Jacko had a great time... Hates the parrots though. Not a fan of those squawkers.

Ironman 2011

I have been extremely tardy in my blog posts, but couldn't wait to get this video up of Troy crossing the finish line in Penticton at yesterday's Ironman. Despite the heat of the Okanagan sun beating down on him all day, Troy finished strong at 11 hours and 56 minutes!! With friends and family cheering him on all day, this moment is beyond exciting and incredibly emotional.

Way to go Troy! We are so proud of you.

The Oakwood Canadian Bistro

If you are looking for a new restaurant to try in Vancouver I would love to suggest visiting The Oakwood in Kits ( 2471 West 4th Ave) ... Troy and I joined Jody and Tyson there last night for a late dinner and it was DELICIOUS! Boasting all local, all organic and all seasonal ingredients, Mike Shea and his team do it right... In a word: Perfection!

Sarah McLachlan and the VSO

Last Friday Troy treated us to an amazing show at the Orpheum: Sarah McLachlan with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra! It was probably one of the most incredible performances I have ever seen- I have to say, a couple of songs brought me to tears and I pretty much had goosebumps the entire time. Troy could not stop smiling :) It was such a great experience! Thanks (again) Troy.

Sarah! We had tickets to the VIP after party and were pretty amazed when Sarah M. walked in! We were soooo close to meeting her, but then got pushed around and basically panicked. Instead we had the privilege of watching her interact with the fans from a couple of feet away- it was so cool!
